In the dying moments, sheer ecstasy erupted for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to warm the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Glaring Contrast in Experience

On the home bench was the most decorated manager of his time, a man with four decades of silverware for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, stood a one-time trainer at lower-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being temporarily promoted from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
