American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
