Recent Particulars Emerge Concerning the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
New information has come to light regarding the tragic passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence residence on Sunday.
The Initial Report
A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the house. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
After gaining access to the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her promptly called 911. Subsequently, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant also disputed several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
Furthermore refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to reports of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the scene. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
