Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
