Ex- Australian Test Cricketer Damien Martyn Admitted to Hospital and in Induced Coma Following Bacterial Meningitis Diagnosed.
The ex-Aussie cricket star Damien Martyn has been admitted to hospital and put into a medically induced coma following a diagnosis of meningitis.
Serious Health Battle Revealed
Martyn, aged 54, “is facing the battle of his life”, as stated by former AFL player Brad Hardie, who disclosed Martyn’s health situation on Tuesday.
“Let’s hope he can recover because it’s really serious,” stated Hardie.
Martyn remains in a serious condition after falling ill on Boxing Day and being taken to a hospital in Queensland, as per family sources.

Meningitis is inflammation of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord.
An Illustrious Playing Career
Widely regarded as one of Australia’s most talented batters, playing 67 Tests and scoring 4,406 Test runs averaging 46.37 from 1992 and 2006.
His unbeaten 88 in the 2003 World Cup final – with a broken finger – was instrumental in Australia's win over India.
Martin retired suddenly in the middle of the 2005-06 Ashes series in England after struggling in the opening two Tests.
